This is a beautiful area with gently rolling hills. In spring the area is covered in fruit blossom and in summer the fields are breathtaking with acres of sunflowers.
The region is full of historical interest and was much fought over during the 100 Years War. There are numerous bastide villages to explore, along with colourful markets selling the wonderful local fruit and vegetables.
Golf and horse riding are close by, and there are several leisure lakes with 'beaches'. This is a wonderful area for walking and nature-lovers. For children there is the Parc Walibi theme park in Agen, an adventure park with aerial walkways set in woodland close to Fumel and a small water park near Valence d'Agen. There are numerous water sports on the Lot and Dordogne rivers or if you would rather watch than participate there are boats for hire in Villeneuve-sur-Lot and Moissac, or canal/river trips from Agen or Nerac. Day trips out can include the wonderful scenery of the Lot and Dordogne valleys, Cahors and St Cirq Lapopie, and the larger cities of Toulouse and Bordeaux. The Airbus factory in Toulouse offers tours in English, and there is also a space museum there.
