The Limassol region is based around the city of Limassol the island's second largest city and the industrial and commercial capital of the southern coast. The tourist centre of the town is concentrated to the East of the city abutting a long stretch of sandy beach. Little historical interest can be found within the city but head west to Kourion and here you will find an archaeological site well worth the visit.
If you head inland from the city of Limassol the secenery rapidly changes. You will pass through small villages and vineyards, stop for a taste.
