The rural vacation rental "Moulin de la Canne" (Cane mill) is originally a water mill, about 200 years old, where the farmers had their corn ground in earlier days.
'Moulin de la Canne ' is situated at the end of a lane (cul-de-sac) just outside the small village of Cersot, near the medieval town of Buxy, 12 miles from Chalon-sur-Saône, halfway between Dijon and Lyon.
The factory chimney reminds us of the steam machine that drove the mill in times of drought.
Across the bridge, on the other side of the river there is a sports field.
You can swim and fish in the river in the part of the river that has been dredged to a depth of 7 feet; children can play in the shallow river
Moulin de la Canne consists of four separate holiday homes:
- 'Le Meunier': suitable for 9 / 11 people; 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms
- 'Le Moulin': suitable for 15 people; 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms
- 'L' Etable': suitable for 6 people; 3 small bedrooms, 2 bathrooms
- La Laiterie: suitable for 15 people; 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms

Burgundy (France) is a culturally and historically very rich and impressive region.
Beautiful towns in the area are Tournus, Beaune, St. Gengoux le National and Cluny, with its roman churches and monasteries, each town approximately half an hour from Moulin de la Canne by car.

You leave the 'Autoroute du Soleil', A6 at exit 26, Chalon Sud, halfway between Dijon and Lyon.
After 'le péage' , the tollgate, take the direction of Le Creusot / Montceau-les-Mines: N80

Keep left on a kind of roundabout and take the direction of Buxy: D977
You enter Buxy at a roundabout.
Drive straight through the town centre into a narrow street with a shop called 'Buxy Bricolage' at the end. Turn to the right and leave Buxy, in the direction of Montagny / Le Creusot / Cersot: D977.
Pass the vineyards and when the road forks keep right, following the signs in the direction of
Le Creusot / Cersot: D977
After 5 minutes you enter Cersot. Follow the road to the right, pass the bridge and turn to the left after the small roman church, where you see the signs of 'Moulin de la Canne'.

Drive down that lane, and the second house on your left is: 'Moulin de la Canne '.
