The apartment overlooks woodland and hills covered in olive groves and vineyards, where shepherds tend their sheep. One can hear the distant bells from a neighbouring village church and the sweet sound of bird song. In in the autumn enjoy the intoxicating scent from the log fires.
From our garden one can see the ruins of 4 castles. Umbria is famous for the sheer number of fortified hilltop villages, most from the medieval period. Within minutes from our door wild boar roam the woods at night, yet we are less than 30 minutes drive from the bustling town of Perugia. Here one can find the contrasts of tranquility & bustling activity. From our village one can take the most beautiful walks through the countryside.
Umbria specializes in succulent meats, olive oil, cheeses, wild mushrooms & asparagus, the world's finest truffles, not forgetting wine. One can try the local specialties in a variety of lovely ristorante & pizzarias.

Vecchia Casa is the ideal location for exploring both Umbria & Tuscany
Veccia Casa located within 45 minutes from Perugia airport where Ryanair now fly from London Stansted 4 times weekly
We are located between 4 of the most famous wine districts in Italy where one may visit the friendly cantinas to taste and purchase the wine.
Also within easy reach in Umbria are:
Perugia, the bustling university town where one may now get around on their new monorail system
Assisi, the birthplace of St Francis and a charming town
Deruta where majolica ware is still crafted & decorated by hand Orvieto known for its famous cathedral, Etruscan tombs and of course it's wonderful wine
Gubbio, one of the most beautiful towns in Italy
Lago Trasimeno where one finds numerous water activities and a bird sanctuary where one may view the many migratory birds. The lago has 2 islands which may be reached by a regular ferry service.

Cortona the magnificent hill top town made famous in Under the Tuscan Sun
Arezzo where the largest antiques fair in Italy is held on the 1st weekend of the month

Tariff Notes
We offer flexible bookings with a minimum of 3 nights
A returnable security/damage deposit of €150 is necessary
A 50% deposit is necessary to reserve a booking and the balance is due 8 weeks before arrival.
Bookings are confirned within 48 hours of receipt of the deposit.

It is unsuitable for toddlers and those unable to climb stairs.
Bookings are for a minimum of 3 nights.
