Germany's Black Forest, the French Alsace, the Swiss Jura and Swiss Alps are all just a short drive away from the quiet, idyllic, south western corner of Germany known as the "Dinkelberg".
The Dinkelberg Apartment is located in Rheinfelden-Eichsel, situated in the south western corner of Germany, bordering Switzerland to the south (7 Km), France to the west (15 Km) and close to the Swiss city of Basle (20 Km). This ideal location offers a wide variety of different landscapes, cultures and activities all within a short distance. Even the North Italian lakes can be reached in 3 hours!
The Dinkelberg Holiday Apartment is perfectly situated for your holiday, from local walks and bike rides to scenic drives through the Black Forest.
The Dinkleberg Apartment is owned and run by Petra and Kevin Thompson. We are native German and English speakers and live in the same building, therefore we are on hand to welcome and assist you to ensure that you have the best possible holiday!
Built in 2007 our house and apartment has a modern, open plan style and features high quality wooden / tiled flooring, underfloor heating and external roller blinds on all windows.
Sleeping 2-3 people, the apartment has a generous 65 m² of living space which is divided into a large open plan lounge / dining area and kitchenette, a separate bedroom, a bathroom and a private patio area.
The apartment has everything you need for your stay and a separate off-road parking space is also provided.

Activities & Places to visit:
The area offers a huge range of activities both in summer and winter. The space on this page is too limited to mention everything but we have tried to mention a selection of typical summer and winter activities.
Please contact us if you would like more detailed information or have specific questions regarding activities on offer in the area.
Cycling:
There are hundreds of paths and tracks in the area with something for every ability.
• Easy routes - for example along the river Rhine crossing between Germany, France and Switzerland - bike hire is offered at some locations
• Intermediate routes - for example, tour the Dinkelberg directly from the apartment.
• Challenging routes - for example special mountain bike tracks in the Black Forest - bike hire is offered at some locations
Walking / Hiking:
There are many paths and tracks throughout the whole area offering a wide variety of different landscapes from walks along the river Rhine, or discovering the Dinkelberg directly from the apartment, to longer hikes through the Black Forest or even taking a trip to the Alps for some breathtaking mountain walks. There is something for everyone.
Swimming / Bathing:
Almost every town has a public outdoor pool and there are also thermal and wellness baths in the area.
Skiing / Cross Country Skiing / Snowboarding / Sledging:
There are many possibilities to try some winter sports during your stay with us.
We are located within an hour of the most popular Black Forest skiing areas and within 1.5 to 2 hours of several Swiss ski resorts.
For complete beginners we recommend the Black Forest as it is closer and significantly less expensive.
The Black Forest is particulary known for its superb cross country skiing areas should you be interested to try out this sport.
We will be happy to help you with organising skiing or snowboarding lessons during your stay.
Maybe you prefer something less strenuous? Why not go sledging on the nearby slopes or skiing areas, or try the all year round toboggan run in Todtnau (45 minutes drive).
