'Maison de L'Arche' is the perfect place to relax and unwind, or for people property hunting, but would like to spend a little more time in this beautiful part of the Dordogne, whilst having a bit of luxury accommodation as their base.
It was was originally built in 1861 as two cottages. Over the last 4 years, it has been professionally and tastefully renovated, keeping lots of the original features, such as stone pointed walls, Oak and Chestnut beams.
The kitchen is equipped with double oven (Bottled gas). Extractor hood. Butler sink. Feature fireplace with wood burner. Oak work tops throughout and a generous sized island breakfast bar as well as a separate eating area, with plenty of storage space. There is also a convenient door, which takes you into the covered games area. The spacious but cozy lounge has feature fireplace, with wood burner, TV with DVD player, mini stereo Radio/CD player. Brick arch doorway leads off the lounge into the library, with a large selection of books available, and a gorgeous view out into the courtyard. There is also telephone with broadband ADSL/Wi-Fi access.
Up stairs, there are 3 good sized double bedrooms with maximum 6 people sleeping. One master bedroom with walk in wardrobe and two standard large double bedrooms. High ceilings throughout, exposed chestnut roof trusses, wood insulated floors throughout and electric wall radiators. On the spacious landing, there is the shower room and a separate toilet.

'Maison de L'Arche' is situated in the lovely historic hamlet of 'Reilhac', with it's Roman church just 3oo meters away. The surounding area, has many lakes and large ponds, which according to the locals, the water was used in smelting to make the lead shot for the Napoleonic war.
Although the hamlet doesn't have a shop. Just a 2 minutes drive into the main village of Champniers with it's beautiful old church, is an excellent backery, post office, a very nice restaurant and a small bar, and not to mention the Marie's office.
Two large leisure lakes of St.Mathieu & St.Estephe, are only about 10 minutes away, with full liesure facilities on hand. The main market town of Nontron, is just 20 minutes. And one of the largest local produce markets in the Northern Dordogne, is held every Wednesday morning in the lovely village of Piegut-Pluviers, less than 10 minutes drive. A real must for any vistor.
The Summer time around this area is full of festivals, concerts, fete's and many other events to you busy....if you wish!

'Maison de L'Arche' is ideally situated on approximately 2 level acres of grounds. Perfect for walking or cycling, with two small rivers either side of the property down into the wooded valley.
Out side, there is plenty of room to sit and relax, swim, walk and while away those lazy warm summer days. The 11m x 5m, flood lit in ground swimming pool, has Roman walk in steps. The pool depth is 1.4m all over. It is sited amongst the beautiful professionally designed, gardens and grounds and is completely private. The large deck over looks the pool area and grounds. A good sized barbecue is also at hand, for those al fresco evenings as well as a chiminea, perfect for a romantic dinner by the pool!
Apart from the main pool area and private front courtyard, there are many other places to sit, relax and enjoy this lovely property. There is also a large vegetable garden with an abundant oray of freash organic fruit and veg for the table!
Ample level parking is provided with enough room for 4 plus cars. Well behaved dogs are allowed, and there is NO smoking inside the house. We are sorry, but the property is not suitable for wheel chairs.
