Further details
Just a couple of mins walk away is a local butchers and a 24 hour bakery and a little further along is April Street with a large array of shops and eateries and a supermarket and also the main banks. A few minutes in land is the bustling town of Paralimni with its beautiful square and main church. The square is a hive of activity with both trendy cafe's and traditional Cypriot Taverna's where the locals spend the warm afternoons socializing over a Cyprus coffee. There are lots of shops if you prefer satisfying your need for retail therapy or you can just relax in the square and take in the atmosphere. Kapparis itself has grown into a lovely little resort over the past few years and Kennedy Avenue now has a good selection of bars and restaurants to choose from.
The resort of Pernera is 5km from Kapparis and 2km from the larger resort of Protaras and the town of Paralimni, it is nestled within a sandy bay and exudes a relaxed easygoing atmosphere. The main street lined with bars and restaurants winds its way down to the sea front where there are numerous sandy coves ideal for swimming, snorkelling or just sunbathing, there are water-sports along the front if you feel more energetic. There is a scenic coastal walk to Protaras along a purpose built path with cafes for refreshments along the way.
Protaras lies on four miles of golden sand nestling next to warm turquoise shallow waters. The best beaches on the island including Fig Tree Bay and Nissi Beach can be found in Protaras. There is a good choice of traditional, modern and international cuisine. You must try out the Mezze which is a selection of local foods including dips, bread, olives; spanakopita, vine leaves stuffed with rice and meat; stuffed vegetables, casseroles and stews, plus the famous souvla or kebabs.
