The cottage's interior has been sympathetically and tastefully restored to blend its original charm with modern-day comfort whilst outdoors you can enjoy the stone-walled, south-facing herb garden; seek shade beneath a wisteria-covered pergola or relax in the seclusion of a 'hidden' courtyard garden - each perfect for enjoying the Dordogne sunshine, dining alfresco or simply enjoying an aperitif.

Experience the magic of The Dordogne
We offer you the ideal base to explore the magic of The Dordogne. From the majesty of some of the prettiest villages in France huddled along the banks of the river to the tranquility of its lakes. From its Prehistoric sites to some of the best food in the whole of France...The Dordogne has it all!
Each season offers something different - from wild daffodils and orchids in the Spring; fetes and brocantes in the Summer and nature's bounty in the Autumn through to Winter's truffle and 'foire gras' markets - so why not visit and discover your favourite season?

The hamlet of Vaudrude is situated within walking distance of the village of Corgnac sur l'isle, which offers a wide range of amenities, and is within easy driving distance of the larger market town of Thiviers, which hosts just one of the excellent markets in the region each Saturday morning.

Further afield lie the cities of Périgueux (35km south) and Limoges (60km north), both of which offer fine architecture, a wide range of shops and weekly markets as well as open-air entertainment throughout the summer months.

Whilst this region of the Dordogne is a peaceful corner of France, noted for its gently rolling hills, patchwork fields and swathes of deciduous woodland dotted with honey-coloured stone cottages, it is not until you visit that you can fully appreciate the wide diversity of activities on offer or places to visit.

As you enter the cottage there is a:

•Fully fitted, corner kitchen with a large, integrated fridge and dishwasher, the cooker and microwave are housed within the large stone fireplace.
•Lounge/dining area - with seating at the dining table for four, plus two easy chairs for relaxing, this area also contains the satellite TV, CD/MP3/radio and a selection of books to help while away your time.




Situated off the main room is a:

•South-facing bedroom which is light and airy and furnished with a double bed, bedside tables, large wardrobe and chaise longe.
•Shower room, equipped with a thermostatic shower, toilet and fitted, marble-topped vanity unit, which also houses the washing machine. (Shower and hand towels are provided)

There are radiators to all rooms and ample electrical sockets throughout the cottage.

An Outdoor Lover's Paradise
When relaxing at Les Glycines you have a choice of three outside areas to sit and enjoy the Dordogne weather, and discretely watch French life pass by:

1. The private courtyard garden, suitable for both private sunbathing and dining

2. beneath the wisteria-covered pergola, which offers welcome shade during the hot, summer months

3. the south-facing herb garden, situated near the kitchen so you are never too far away from a chilled drink.

A portable barbeque and exterior table and chairs are provided, which can all be sited to suit your mood.
