Additional Information
The Aa valley region is still relatively undiscovered so restaurants are reasonably priced as are the tourist attractions.
A short drive from the chateau is located the world war 2 V2 V3 rocket launch silo now a museum, La Coupole. Fascinating and educative, it is not merely about the war but also about the social history of France 1939 to 1945. For those doing a war graves tour the chateau is set mid distance between the Somme and Ypres , and also not far from the A26 motorway . Under an hour drive from the chateau to Vimy, for example.
For children, no hesitation in recommending the Dennlys Park amusement park, about 15 minutes from the chateau. Other attractions nearby include Rando-Rail and the Aa valley tourist train , boat rides through the wetlands or along the canal at St Omer , and the excellent sea water marine park Nausicaa at Boulogne.
