Listing description
The real Spain, with goats at the gate. Casita La Luz is approached by a secluded lane, it has a wonderful view south to the Sierra Lujar. The casita is sunny, there is plenty of room for sun loungers and a shaded sitting area will keep you cool in the height of summer whilst watching the eagles and the many other birds. The casita has the benefit of large windows giving a light and airy aura with lots of natural ventilation. All windows are double-glazed, draught proofed and have fly screens. The bedroom also has french doors facing east and opening onto the patio with mountain views. The kitchen /sitting room has a log burning stove for the winter and a stable door leading to covered porch. A welcome pack of basic groceries is provided. Outside of the garden you are welcome to wander the two lower farm terraces. In season you can pick any of the fruit to eat.

This part of Andalucia has an enormous variety of things to do. The more popular include walking, bird watching, horse riding, climbing, mountain biking, golf, paragliding and diving. For relaxation one can try reflexology, rekki massage and many other therapies. A short drive will take you up into the famous white villages, further afield is the attractive city of Granada with the world famous Alhambra Palace. Costa Tropical beaches are just a thirty-minute drive away; within an hour you can reach a wide variety of small coves and larger resorts. A drive of about an hour and a half will take you to the north side of Sierra Nevada where you can ski from about the end of November till the end of April. The very fit can walk to the top of Mulhacen, Spain’s highest mainland mountain (3481m) The market town of Orgiva has several supermarkets, banks, a large number of bars, many restaurants, a couple of night clubs, a daily and weekly market, 24hour medical centre. A five-minute walk will take you to the nearest restaurant/bar. Journey time to Granada Airport is one hour: Malaga Airport two hours.

Change over day
Changeover day is normally Saturday, other days may be available.
Guests are asked to arrive after 3pm and vacate by 11 am on departure day.
We require a deposit of 100 British pounds; full payment must be made four weeks before arrival. In the event of cancellation, the deposit will be refunded if we succeed in obtaining a replacement booking. No reminders will be issued.
