Nestling in a peaceful hamlet but so near to the café culture and bustle of a busy market town. A perfect base for canoeing, golf, hiking, rambling and bicycle riding. Feast on regional specialities, explore medieval cliff hanging villages and Bastides, all surrounded by breath taking scenery
We offer a choice of self-catering accommodation in either La Petite Maison - a small, delightful two storey, honey coloured stone cottage, or Chestnuts - a lovely converted barn apartment on the first floor adjacent to the main house. Our accommodation is available for long breaks and short breaks throughout the year.
Both gites have ensuite facilities. The kitchens are well fitted with a microwave oven, coffee maker, toaster, iron/ironing board, fridge with ice compartment, hairdryer, CD player and are fully furnished down to the last garlic press! Tea towels and bed linen are supplied and changed, at no extra cost, on a weekly basis. You will find a welcome pack upon arrival – items may vary but these will usually consist of local French bread, wine, cheese and fresh fruit.
You can take a leisurely stroll to the local boulangerie, where bread is baked over a wood fire and you can help yourself to the fresh herbs you will find growing on your patio.

Gourdon
La Fontade is situated 3 kilometres west of Gourdon in the department of the Lot very close to the borders of the Dordogne. It is an ideal base for visiting all the major sights and attractions of this magnificent historical area, most of which are within a 30 minute drive.
There are four airports all within a 2 hour drive of La Fontade: All of the low cost airlines fly into this area:
Ryanair Fly from London Stansted to Rodez, Limoges or Bergerac
Easyjet.com - Fly from various UK airports to Toulouse,
Flybe.com - fly from various UK airports to Toulouse, Bergerac & Limoges
Alternatively you can travel via Eurostar from London to Paris and then on to Gourdon rail station.

We are unfortunately unable to accommodate pets and there is no smoking within the holiday accommodation.

Other times of the year from £175 per week, longer lets upon application. Prices are inclusive of gas, water and electricity during the summer season, although there may be an extra charge for heating at other times of the year. Linen and towels are also supplied. A deposit of one third is payable to confirm each booking, the balance being due 8 weeks prior to the start date, together with a “damage deposit” of £100 which is refundable during the first week following departure.

We would like you to know all about the area before you make your final holiday choice.
You will find our accommodation in the heart of La Fontade, a typical French hamlet quietly nestling in the beautiful countryside on the borders of the Dordogne and the Lot. La Fontade is only 3 kilometres west of the medieval town of Gourdon, with it’s bustling markets, cinema, wonderful variety of pavement cafes, excellent restaurants and bars (serving the areas specialities, duck, walnuts and cheese,) not to mention a delightful selection of attractive shops, supermarkets, cobbled streets and historical sites. Gourdon boasts its’ own railway station providing, among others, rail links to Brive-la-Gaillarde, Cahors and Toulouse
Other places of interest that are very near include:
Sarlat-la-Canada - with its architecture from both medieval and renaissance times
Domme - a bastide town, founded in 1283
La Roque Gageac - a magnificent village officially classified as one of the most beautiful in France
Rocamadour - a medieval pilgrimage destination
Caves of Gouffre de Padirac -a spectacular cave complex
The River Dordogne - perfect for picnics and sightseeing by canoe
