Listing description

Cottage approach

This brand new cottage is situated in a country setting amongst almond and olive groves with stunning views of surrounding mountains and yet is only 3kms from the town and beaches. It is set in its own grounds and includes a superb wooded BBQ area and small (4 metres by 4 metres) pool.
The cottage has 2 double bedrooms (1 double bed, 2 twin beds) a living room/dining room, American kitchen and bathroom. There is also a double sofa bed in the living room. Also included is air-conditioning, satellite TV, DVD player and internet access via WiFi.
The kitchen is fully equipped and towels and bedlinen are included in the rental price as is cleaning at the end of each stay. Children are welcome but we do not accept pets. A car is necessary.

Location Details

Located on the Costa Dorada between L'Ametlla de Mar and El Perello.

Casa Sotavento ia a holiday cottage set in a peaceful location with mountain views surrounded by olive groves and pine woods. There are several little bays close by and the charming fishing port of L'Ametlla de Mar with its shops, restaurants and beaches is only 5 kms away. Fish is brought in to the port daily and then auctioned off at the fish market. El Perelló, a small market town inland is 4kms from the cottage and within easy reach of the River Ebro and its delta which is a unique natural paradise with kilometres of paddy fields and pink flamingoes. Catfishing, birdwatching and cycling are among the activities to be found in and around the delta. Upriver from the delta is Miravet, built on the rocks above the river where the remains of Miravet Castle, once belonging to the Templars, can be visited. There is also an excellent artisan ceramic workshop in Miravet. Other places worthy of mention in the area are the Els Ports Natural Park mountain range and the walled medieval town of Morello, capital of the Els Ports region. The city of Tarragona with its important Roman ruins such as the Amphitheatre, the Aqueduct, and the Praetorium and Circus among others is just a 50-minute drive away and a shopping/sightseeing day-trip to Barcelona by train from L’Ametlla de Mar is also perfectly feasible.
