La Maison de St George Cottages - designed to offer affordable but high quality and relaxing holidays for everyone! Stunning and stylish one, two and three bedroom cottages ideally situated in a peaceful village between Cognac and La Rochelle. Themed activity breaks, short stays or longer vacations available. This detached Lodge is full of charm and unique features with the benefit of modern facilities including central heating plus a private garden and terrace.
Ground Floor:
• Kitchen – fully fitted with exposed beams.
• Lounge – boasting a stained glass window, exposed stone walls and original fireplace. CD/hi-fi system, colour TV for French channels and DVD player are also provided.
• Dining Room – with art gallery featuring original pieces of work and overlooking the terrace.
• Bath with shower, hand basin, toilet, heated towel rail and hairdryer.
A rustic timbered staircase leads up to a former hayloft. Now converted to the mezzanine level;
• Bedroom 1 – impressive double bedroom providing pretty views over the landscaped gardens.
• Bedroom 2 – twin bedded room suitable for young people and children with views across the village.
Outside:
A private, covered terrace with garden furniture for enjoying eating ‘al fresco’ along with a pretty courtyard walled garden.
Heating:
Gas central heating throughout the cottage with original fireplace in the lounge.

La Maison Cottages are ideally situated in a peaceful village between Cognac and La Rochelle
The Romanesque town of Aulnay-de-Saintonge is only 5 minutes drive away, with all amenities including a market, bakeries, supermarkets, pharmacies, restaurants, cafes, banks, seasonal open-air swimming pool and UNESCO World Heritage listed - Aulnay church. Special weekly wine tasting visits are arranged at the local distillery. This enables all our guests to savour the Cognac, Pineau des Charentes and wines of the region.
A full tourist information guide is provided in each cottage on local attractions, special events and wonderful places to enjoy the local gastronomic fayre of Poitou-Charentes.
All within an hour’s drive or less are:
•Chic resorts of La Rochelle and Royan – for sightseeing, shopping and seafood;
•Atlantic Coast sandy beaches – chance to enjoy the beautiful seaside;
•The Island of Ile de Ré – exclusive and chic with excellent restaurants;
•The wild Island of Ile d’Oleron – enjoy the world famour oysters, nature walks and great beaches;
•Historic cities of Saintes and Poitiers – sightseeing, art galleries, shopping and eating;
•Canals of Green Venice (Marais Poitevin) – boat trips along the canals followed by crêpes and cider;
•Exciting Futuroscope – cinematic theme park, and
•Cognac – home to world famous names such as Hennessey, Martell and Remy Martin.

Changeover day - Saturday in peak season - July and August. At all other times of the year the arrival and departure days are flexible. Short breaks available.
